The mobile ecoparque, which alternates between Altea and Altea la Vella, has its own calendar. Recycling centre hours have changed several times — telephone before you drive out.

Step by step: getting rid of waste

Everyday wasteHousehold refuse, packaging, glass and paper go in the street containers, separated by colour.
Book a bulky collectionFurniture and appliances are collected free of charge once notified. Do not simply leave them beside a container — that is an offence.
Take it to the ecoparqueRubble, paint, solvents, waste oil, electrical goods, fluorescent tubes, batteries and garden cuttings.
Prove your addressThe ecoparque is for people registered in Altea; an identity document or registration certificate eases access.

Good to know

Garden cuttings do not go in the bin. Prunings, rubble and hazardous waste belong at the ecoparque; fly-tipping is treated as an offence.

Open fires are prohibited outright during the dry season and otherwise allowed only with permission. Plots on slopes carry obligations to keep firebreaks clear.

Some trees are protected. Before felling anything — including on your own land — ask at the town hall.

Fees and charges

Depositing waste at the ecoparque is free for Altea households in domestic quantities; commercial quantities are treated differently. The refuse charge itself is collected by Suma, and the rates are in the fiscal bylaws: altea.es → Ordenanzas fiscales.

How do I book a bulky collection?

By telephone to La Pública on 966 88 19 03. Put the items out only on the evening agreed.

Whom do I call about noise at night?

In the moment, the local police on 092, so that it is recorded. For persistent problems, also a written complaint to the department.

Are dogs allowed on the beach?

Altea has a designated dog beach. Elsewhere seasonal restrictions apply; the current rules are in the beach bylaw.
