Eighteen car parks and garages and at least eleven charging points, arranged by area. Every name links to the route.
Do not drive into the old town. The lanes of the Casco Antiguo are narrow, steep and partly one-way. Most of what is listed below is within walking distance.
The number of spaces is not given: we have no official figures, and estimates from reviews contradict one another. “Free” here means free for now according to the signs, as of October 2026. Whether a car park stays free is for the municipality to decide.
Charges are set out in the municipal bylaws or by the operator.
Eleven public charging points in the municipality that we know of (as of October 2026).
There are also sockets in the Plaza de la Pau underground car park, listed above.
Charging power, price and availability are in the operators’ apps — live there, and out of date here by tomorrow. Power also depends on your car and on how many points are in use.
Locations and opening hours checked October 2026 through mapping services. Charges and the extent of the blue zone follow the municipal bylaws. Sources: weekly market altea.portaldelcomerciante.com; the municipality’s car park names alicanteplaza.es; new parking scheme alicanteplaza.es.
