Parking in Altea

Aparcar en Altea

Nineteen car parks and garages and eleven charging points, arranged by area. Every name links to the route.

1. First, a warning

Do not drive into the old town. The lanes of the Casco Antiguo are narrow, steep and partly one-way. Everything listed below is within walking distance.

The number of spaces is not given: there are no official figures, and estimates from reviews contradict one another. Whether a car park stays free is for the municipality to decide.

2. Free, close to the centre

3. Paid

  • Parking Filharmònica — Carrer de la Filharmònica 17A. Buy the ticket first at the machine and display it. Paying on the way out risks a penalty
  • Parking Plaza del Ayuntamiento — underground car park at the town hall, Plaça José María Planelles 1. Mon–Thu 8:15–1:00, Fri and Sat until 3:00, Sun from 11:00
  • Parking Ferrocarril — underground, Carrer Ferrocarril 11
  • Parking Plaza de la Pau — underground at Plaza de la Pau, Avinguda Comunidad Valenciana 9, with charging sockets

Charges are set out in the municipal bylaws or by the operator.

4. Beach and north

5. Harbours

6. Charging points for electric cars

Eleven public charging points in the municipality, accessible around the clock unless noted otherwise.

There are also sockets in the Plaza de la Pau underground car park, listed above.

Charging power, price and availability are in the operators’ apps — live there, and out of date here by tomorrow. Power also depends on your car and on how many points are in use.

Several points limit how long you may stay and charge a supplement beyond that.

7. Worth knowing

  • Tuesday is market day on the Camí de l’Algar site.
  • Free means free. On some open car parks people approach arriving drivers and ask for money to guide them in. That is not a charge.
  • Blue zone. Parts of the town are metered; what counts is the time on the ticket.
  • Resident permit through the town hall, for those registered here.
  • Motorhomes — what is allowed and what counts as camping is for the municipality to define.

Locations and opening hours checked August 2026 through mapping services. Charges and the extent of the blue zone follow the municipal bylaws.
